Start your project with a deposit

A $50 project deposit is required to begin any digitization, restoration, or archival work.

The deposit reserves time for review, handling, and planning, and is applied toward your final total after your photos are evaluated.

What the deposit covers

The deposit allows us to:

• Review your photographs in person
• Assess condition, quantity, and any special handling needs
• Confirm scope, services, and final pricing
• Plan safe handling, digitization, and organization before work begins

No restoration or digitization work starts until pricing is confirmed and approved.

Refund policy

Deposits are fully refundable if work has not started.

If, after review, you decide not to proceed, your deposit will be refunded in full.

About final pricing

Final pricing is based on what is actually received and reviewed.

If additional work is discovered during review—such as photo backs not included in the original estimate, higher-than-expected quantities, or additional organization requests—you’ll be notified before any work begins.

No changes are made without your approval.

Local drop-off and pickup

For local projects, photos are transported in a secured protective container during pickup and delivery to minimize movement and handling.

While no transport method can eliminate all risk, careful handling and protection are part of every project.

Shipping your photos

If you’re mailing your photos, you’ll receive clear packing instructions after submitting your deposit to help ensure they arrive safely.

We typically recommend:

• Using rigid protection (cardboard or photo mailers)
• Avoiding loose stacking
• Clearly labeling any groups or notes you want preserved

What happens next

After submitting your deposit:

• We review your photos
• We confirm scope and final pricing
• You approve before work begins
